🏥 Story from the Examination Room
A 60-year-old female patient came to see the doctor with only “back pain.” She was coherent and didn’t have any symptoms of hand tremors or sweating, which are signs of low blood sugar.
However, while receiving treatment, the patient began to become “drowsy” and unresponsive! The team immediately checked her blood sugar with a fingerstick test and found it to be only 30 mg/dL (which is considered critical!).
Treatment: The doctor immediately administered glucose intravenously. The patient gradually regained consciousness, and a thorough check revealed no complications such as paralysis or stroke.
🔍 Why is this case dangerous? (Whipple’s Triad)
